I love the way this kitchen, mixes different tones: the navy cabinets, the light grey-green of the Swedish stove, the white of the range hood. There are a lot of features here that are common to the other kitchens, like the marble countertops, square tile, and gold fixtures, but it is the detailing (and placement) of the stove in particular that makes this kitchen unique: placing the stove, and therefore the range hood, in the center of the room makes it a celebrated feature, and the symbolic heart of the whole kitchen.

How many of you simply place them on your window-sill, or directly on the kitchen countertop? Here’s a great alternative. You can use a vintage container to hold all of these items. This makes cleaning the kitchen much easier, and also makes your kitchen look gorgeous.

Remember that just ridding your kitchen of clutter can go a long way toward making it seem larger and more functional. By moving out the things you don’t use regularly, you reduce clutter and make the things you do need more accessible at the same time.

A peninsula basically serves the same purpose as the kitchen island, but it’s fixed to at least 1 wall, with access to 3 sides rather than 4 like an island. A peninsula is actually seen as an extension of the rest of the kitchen, unlike islands which are a distinct unit separate from the other worktops and cupboards. Due to its’ structure, a peninsula is a great choice for kitchens with a smaller footprint, as it’s more space efficient. It’s much easier to incorporate, and homeowners can choose just how small or big they want it to be.

An island with wheels allows you to bring it in when it’s needed, then move it to the side, into a closet, or into an adjoining room when it’s not. Most islands also give you additional storage, so you can designate yours for a specific purpose and store all the relevant items there, such as making a baking cart and storing your flour, sugar, rolling pin, and cookie cutters there. When it’s time to bake, the island comes out and you have all the counter space you need and all of your baking items right at hand.

If you have an L-shaped kitchen, a peninsula will work best as it’ll double as a divider which conveniently separates the dinning or living area from the kitchen. Wih a peninsula, you’re also afforded lots of room for storage room and countertop space. In addition to that, if you are concerned that your kitchen is too small for seating, the peninsula allows you to utilize bar stools so that you can maximize your dining options.

Its other strong points are the large window and door, placed just right to ensure the kitchen makes the most of natural light. And though it has an overwhelming minimalist sense, it is both comfortable and contemporary.
